Three routings by the block of time a visit actually has free, each with what it leaves out and what covering the same ground without a guide would need.
A morning or an afternoon, not a whole day, is the most common budget. This is where the site's cheapest bookings sit.

What the tour price buys, and what the gate still charges
A listed tour price and a park or Forest Service fee are sometimes one payment and sometimes two, and the difference is worth knowing before you book.
Book a jeep tour and you are not separately charged a Red Rock Pass. The operator holds its own Coconino National Forest special-use permit, and that permit is what covers the vehicle's access to the trailhead. Drive yourself to the same trailhead in your own high-clearance 4x4 and you need the $5 daily pass (or the $15 weekly, $20 annual, or an America the Beautiful pass) at most standard fee sites (fs.usda.gov).
The Forest Service is also not currently accepting new outfitter-and-guide proposals, so an existing operator's permit is, in practice, how most visitors reach these routes at all.
The Grand Canyon tours on this page include the standard $35 entrance fee, per their own listings. The new $100 fee for visitors who are not US residents is a different matter: one listing says plainly it is not included, so ask any operator before you book. The Antelope Canyon tours fold the Navajo Nation's $15-per-person fee into their price, while an operator booked directly in Page adds it on top (navajonationparks.org).
Horseshoe Bend's $10-per-car parking is run by the City of Page, not the National Park Service, so no NPS pass covers it if you drive yourself.
If your dates are gone
Every category on this table has a fallback for a traveller who did not book ahead.
Jeep and vortex operators keep storefronts in Uptown Sedona and along SR-179 and typically sell same-day seats to walk-in traffic outside the July-August monsoon peak. The Visit Sedona Visitor Center at 331 Forest Rd can point toward whichever operator has room that morning. For the hiking side of this page, the free Sedona Shuttle reaches Cathedral Rock, Little Horse, Soldier Pass, Dry Creek Vista and Mescal Thursday through Sunday with no reservation, which covers three of the trails jeep tours also drive past.
For a day trip, Groome Transportation runs 14 scheduled Phoenix-Sedona roundtrips a day if a rental car is not an option, though it does not run to the Grand Canyon itself.

What is the cheapest tour in Sedona?
The Hi-Points Van Tour is listed at $49.95 for two hours, and the Boynton Canyon Trolley is $27.60 for 50 minutes. Both are the lowest listed prices on this table. Neither includes a park or Forest Service fee, because neither visits a fee site.
Do I need my own entry pass if I book a jeep tour?
No. The operator's own Coconino National Forest special-use permit covers the vehicle's access to the trailhead, so a jeep tour passenger is not separately charged a Red Rock Pass. You would need the $5 daily pass only if you drove the same road yourself (fs.usda.gov). See the full jeep comparison.
Which Sedona tour is longest?
The Horseshoe Bend & Antelope Canyon X Tour runs 12 hours, and the Grand Canyon Full-Day Sunset Trip is booked as a full day. Both leave Sedona for most of the booking, which is why the DIY column for that category compares against the destination's own gate fee, not a Sedona trailhead.
Are Sedona tour prices the final price, or does something get added at the gate?
It depends on the category. Jeep and vortex tours generally do not add a separate site fee, because the operator's own permit covers it. Antelope Canyon is the one to read closely: the Navajo Nation charges $15 per person per entry (navajonationparks.org). Can I book a Sedona tour the same day?
Jeep and vortex operators in Uptown and along SR-179 typically hold same-day inventory outside the July-August monsoon peak. The longer day trips to the Grand Canyon or Antelope Canyon sell out days ahead more often, because they run fixed van departures rather than continuous slots. See if your dates are gone above.
Is a private jeep tour worth the extra cost over a shared one?
